Join us at the Londonderry Inn Bed & Breakfast for an outstanding two night/one day package of hiking, foraging, and exploring.

Tom is a Registered Maine Guide, Author, Journalist, and not least of all a Scottish Bagpiper!

Arrive at the Londonderry Inn anytime after 3:00 PM on check-in day. We will help you select a suitable area restaurant for dinner.

In the evening join us for complimentary dessert and beverages and a discussion of your next day's adventure.

At 8:00 AM the next morning join us for our famous 3-course farm style breakfast to fuel you for the day's activities.
At 9:00 AM join Tom for a hiking and foraging trip to Sears Island, the largest publicly owned undeveloped island on the Maine coast.

At 1:00 PM resume the hike. Tom will point out the rich, maritime history of this part of the bay. The Battle of Castine, which took place just across the bay, was the first U.S. naval defeat. The Colonial fleet was destroyed, remains of which are currently being raised. Paul Revere, in command of the ground forces, suffered a great political setback as a result of the defeat.

In the evening enjoy a traditional "Downeast" lobster bake at a local restaurant, followed by the Inn's famous home made cookies and delicious coffee or fresh brewed tea.

On day of departure,at 8:30 AM join us for our delicious "Farm Style" Breakfast. Relax on our screened farmer's porch, deck, sun porch, or stroll our lovely grounds and in season pick raspberries from our large berries garden.
Noontime checkout

Degree of difficulty for all activities: easy to moderate. Guests should bring hiking shoes, sun screen, insect repellent, outdoor clothing, and rain gear. If need be, we can direct you to local merchants that can supply you these items.

Rates
2 night package rates start at $430.00, plus 7% tax

Rates are per room, double occupancy (single in a room may deduct $30.) All rates include 2 nights lodging, full breakfast each day, boxed lunch, lobster bake dinner, dessert and beverages each evening and a 1-day hiking program.
Group rates available.

This program is offered from May through November, subject to weather conditions and availability.

If requested, Tom can tour other areas, such as Camden Hills, known as Maine's "other Acadia." The rugged natural beauty of this area inspired famed poet Edna St. Vincent Millet's writings.


About Tom Seymour
Tom Seymour began his writing career as a correspondent for the Bangor Daily News in 1975. He currently writes an outdoor column for Belfast's Republican Journal, Maine's oldest weekly newspaper, as well as two regional columns, a wildlife column, and special features for The Maine Sportsman, New England's largest outdoor publication.

Tom has written Fishing Maine and Hiking Maine for Falcon Press, and Foraging New England for Globe Pequot Press. His freelance credits include articles in Maine Issue, Sun-Day, Backwoodsman Magazine, Young American, Popular Lures, Fur-Fish-Game, Muzzle Blasts, Bangor Daily News, Backpacker Magazine, Maine Fish and Wildlife, People, Places, Plants, New England Game and Fish, and The Maritime Sportsman.

In addition to producing two videotapes on foraging for edible, wild plants, Tom is a Highland Bagpiper, and his water-dowsing ability was the subject of features in Downeast Magazine and The Maine Times.

When not piping, fishing, hiking, dowsing, writing or foraging, Tom conducts nature walks in and around his hometown of Waldo, Maine.
